Our Remodel ~ 2007
April 24 - Health Dept. (sewer) Inspection resulted in a tree being cut down
May 21 -Steel siding is removed (looks better already!)
and the patio is also removed
this is the stack of wood from the patio and styrofoam from the house
(doesn't look like that much)
May 22 - insulation was put in the walls
May 23 - holes were plugged
May 24 - all new windows were installed
May 25 - new sliding door installed
and we wait
June 11 - removed original siding
June 15 - picked up permit for addition
These are the computerized drawings of the new addition
June 19 - supplies were delivered today. I see siding! Is that enough wood to build a whole room ?
June 25 - 29 - edging trim was installed along the roof line,
corner edges, and framing around a few windows.
July 2 - starting to dig trench for sewer lines.
July 3 - finished trimming out the small windows of the house.
Installed trim around front door (sure miss my screen doors)
July 5 - Dug trench for footings on the new addition.
(I'm already thinking we should have made it bigger)
July 6 - Trim installed around front window
July 9-10 - Removed and replaced rotted boards around
base of house under utility room and tonka room.
Unfortunately they found termites again under the sliding door.
Going to have to have the ground and house treated again.
July 12-13 - Finally started putting siding on!
July 16-17 - Installed siding across front of house!
Can’t hardly believe it!
July 18 - Placed footing in trench
does that mean cement soon???
July 19 - Finished installing siding on front of house.
July 20 - Ray fired the crew!
Starting Monday Ray will be here making
sure things get done.
July 23 - Installed new vent on side of house.
Started siding along back of house.
July 24 - What a difference it makes to have the boss on the job!
Took out the dryer, removed window in utility room,cut both door
openings and tore off outside wall to the studs.
July 26 - Removed washer, cut out the drywall
(going to re-plumb pipes inside the wall),
tore up section of floor needing to be replaced.
July 27 - Plumbing installed for new bathroom
and new wood put on outside wall
July 28 - Siding finished on side of house
July 28-29 decided to replace the entire floor in the utility room
so Rick & I spent the weekend tearing out the remaining
floor, treating the wood, and putting down insulation.
July 30 - Cement foundation poured!
July 31 - New flooring going down in utility room,
re-plumbing of the washer started
more siding installed along back of house
hot water heater moved to new location
(will be enclosed in it's own closet in new room)
insulation board going in around foundation
August 1 - new outside entry door installed in utility room,
filled in trench along foundation
August 2 - siding completed as far as it can be along back
August 2 - Utility room outlets & switches installed
August 3 - Utility room outlets wired, plumbing completed,
roof overhang removed
August 6 - Utility room electrical inspection passed!
Oh my gosh, they started framing the walls
this might actually get done
and cut away more on the roof line
August 7 - Framing of the walls installed
August 8 - We got walls!

August 9 - things are moving right along
August 10 - Trusses going up
August 13 - Decided to add a door, just looked like it should
have a door there. This will open onto the covered patio.
August 14 - Roof starting to go on
August 16 - Starting false roof to connect the three
different levels of rooflines
August 17 - Heating ductwork laid out.
False roof basically finished, felt installed on roof.
Dug out ground for patio and sidewalk along addition.
August 18 thru 24 - got my washer and dryer back
insulation going in on the addition
framing for hot water heater closet going up
August 25 & 26 - roofing on the addition installed
August 27 - new bedroom door installed - has paper over it to
protect glass this door will open onto the new patio
they got all the insulation in
August 28 - most of the sheet rock put up, framing in place for
bi-fold door to cover washer & dryer
August 29 - sheet rock on the bathroom wall
pocket door installed - this is the door into the "new"
utility room (sheet rock yet to come) second picture is standing in
the utility room looking to new laundry area
below 1st picture is standing in original part of house looking
down "new" hallway (once it's sheet rocked) into new addition.

August 30 - Drywall up, taped and mudded on the
inside of the hot water heater closet
Installed bathroom floor (covered with cardboard for protection)
installed shower walls.
August 31 - finished installing drywall, passed inspection!
September 1 - 5 taping, mudding, & sanding drywall
September 6-13 finished installing all the siding!
must be all most done - all the piles of wood are gone from
the driveway. Going to re-locate our gate here.
Sept. 14 preparing for texturing
Sept. 15-17 Textured, primed and painted inside walls.
Installed shower walls.
Sept.18-19 Taped off outside windows and doors
preparing to paint. Set up the bathroom pieces
Sept. 20-21 The house is painted! Light green with bit darker trim
